For Automotive Applications
Black Glass Enamel Powder
-
Black enamels for automotive windshields (laminated), rear windows (tempered),
and sunroofs (tempered). -
Black enamels protect the adhesives that
bond car glasses to the body from harmful
UV rays. The adhesives without black enamel
as protector could be damaged to be
decomposed by sunlight. -
It has a shielding effect of minimizing exposure of vehicle accessories such as Ag bus bars or antennas for
aesthetic purposes.
(Ag metal paste is printed on the black enamel prior to the glass sintering and bending process.)
An Important Factor for Stable Adhesion
Reliable Sealing, Assembly, and Insulation
As automotive technology advances, the demand for automotive glass increases.
Demand for highly reliable enamels with excellent chemical durability and scratch resistance.
Characteristics of Black Enamel Glass Powder
- Silver ions move and diffuse through enamels during the sintering and bending process,
causing stains or discoloration in automotive glass. Glass frit is used to control silver ion diffusion. - Acidic rain may cause discoloration, corrosion, and deformation over time. Consequently, the demand
for enamels with better durability, chemical-resistance, and scratch-resistance is on the rise. - Enamel minimizes the tendency of press bent glass sheets to stick to the molds during the bending process. BASS supplies glass frits for such high-performance black enamels.
